Message from the President
Dear Members, Colleagues, and Friends,
It is with great honor that I extend my greetings to all of you through this message. The Speech and Hearing Association of India, West Bengal Chapter (SHAIWB), has always stood as a collective voice for professionals committed to the service of humanity.
Our chapter embodies dedication, professionalism, and unity in addressing the needs of individuals with speech, language, and hearing disorders. The journey of SHAIWB is built upon the contributions of each member, past and present, who have tirelessly worked for the growth of this field.
Communication is the essence of human existence. It connects us to our families, our culture, and our society. Hearing is the gateway to sound, to learning, and to expression. Voice is our identity, language is our heritage, and listening is our bond with others.
Our Mission:
- Promote excellence in clinical services.
- Ensure quality education and training.
- Encourage meaningful research.
- Raise public awareness.
- Advocate for early identification and timely intervention.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards.
- Empower individuals and families through professional care.
SHAIWB is committed to continuous learning. We organize workshops, seminars, and conferences to keep our members updated. We encourage interdisciplinary collaborations for better outcomes. We embrace new technologies, from telepractice in speech therapy to digital audiology. We support cochlear implant programs, hearing aid advancements, and innovations in therapy. Yet we never forget the human element that is at the heart of our work.
"The joy of a child speaking a first word. The smile of a parent hearing 'I love you.' The relief of a senior who regains hearing after years of silence. These are the moments that inspire us. These are the rewards of our profession."
With warm regards,
Pankaj Sarkar
President, SHAIWB
